People With Diabetes Taking Metformin Live Longer Than Healthy People

In November 2014, researchers at the University of Cardiff in the United Kingdom used retrospective data to analyze 78,241 people with diabetes on metformin and 90,463 healthy people. They concluded that people with diabetes lived 15% longer than healthy controls. This landmark study triggered extensive metformin research.
