Hormone Replacement Therapy for Men and Women

I’ve always focused on prevention, vitality, and optimizing health at every age. Today, I’m excited to announce that I’m now offering Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) — for both women and men — as part of my commitment to supporting your health span, not just your lifespan.

Why Hormones Matter

Hormones are powerful messengers that regulate nearly every system in the body — from energy levels and mood to metabolism, muscle strength, brain function, and sexual health. As we age, natural hormone levels decline. For some, that decline is smooth. For others, it leads to real symptoms that interfere with quality of life.

For Women

Whether you're in perimenopause, menopause, or postmenopause, symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, low libido, and bone loss can take a toll. Modern HRT can offer relief while also protecting long-term health — especially when started within the right time window.

Safety matters. Early studies linked hormone replacement therapy to increased risks of stroke, heart attack, breast cancer, and endometrial cancer. However, we now understand those risks were associated with the synthetic hormones used at the time.

More recent, large clinical trials — including the ELITE trial, the DOPS study, and the KEEPS trial — have shown that bioidentical hormones, when used appropriately, do not carry those same risks. In fact, they may lower certain risks and offer significant protective benefits when started at the right time.

For Men

Testosterone levels gradually decline with age, but in some men the drop is more pronounced — leading to fatigue, decreased muscle mass, lower libido, and mood changes. Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) can safely restore vitality when clinically indicated and closely monitored.

For years, the FDA placed a black box warning on testosterone therapy due to concerns about cardiovascular risks. However, those concerns stemmed largely from older studies with flawed designs or non-representative patient populations.

In 2023, the landmark TRAVERSE trial — the largest and most rigorous testosterone safety study to date — found no increased risk of heart attack, stroke, or death among men with age-related low testosterone. As a result, in February of this year, the FDA removed the black box warning — reflecting growing confidence in the safety of testosterone therapy when prescribed appropriately.

Just like with women’s HRT, timing, dosing, and monitoring are critical.

Personalized. Monitored. Evidence-Based.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every patient’s therapy will be customized based on symptoms, lab results, and personal goals.

We begin with detailed testing of all hormones, their precursors, and their metabolites — including DHEA, pregnenolone, estrogen metabolites, and other key markers — to create a clear, comprehensive picture of your hormonal health.

Is HRT Right for You?

Whether you’re navigating menopause or noticing changes in energy and drive, I invite you to come in and talk about it. We’ll go over your symptoms, evaluate your risks and benefits, and create a personalized plan — together.

To Your Good Health,

The Longevity Doctor®
